    How much does hospice service cost?

    Hospice Care is a federally supported service, therefore Medicare and state Medicaid plans will cover hospice care at 100%. Additionally, some private insurance policies will cover the service at the contracted rate. 

    How can I sign up for hospice care?

    Hospice care can be recommended by primary care physicians, specialists, family members, pastors, or spiritual advisors. Hospice care requires an order from a physician prior to the start of service. Covenant can assist with orders and documentation as needed.

    Can I keep my current physician?

    Covenant Hospice provides a home visiting physician as part of an all inclusive services. If you would prefer keeping your current physician, we will assist with coordinating your care.

    What is the difference between Hospice and Palliative care?

    Hospice care is compassionate comfort care (as opposed to curative care) for people facing a terminal illness with a prognosis of six month or less, based on their physician’s estimate if the disease runs it’s course as expected.

    Palliative care is compassionate comfort care that provides relief from the symptoms, physical and mental stress of a serious or life-limiting illness. Palliative care is provided a diagnosis, curative treatment and follow up.
